Step aboard the legendary Orient Express.
Our new music theatre project invites you to board one of the most famous trains in the world: the Orient Express.
A train travelling from West to East. A carriage full of strangers — people who are all leaving something behind and searching for something else.
And you are not simply sitting in the audience. You are among the travellers.
As opera, music, and theatre intertwine, stories unfold and shift like the landscapes outside the train window. Identities begin to waver. Secrets come to light. Memories resurface in new and unexpected forms.
Why do people flee from their lives?
Whom will you meet on this journey?
And what is left behind when the train reaches its destination?
Orient Express: A Vessel of Escape is a music theatre piece that dissolves boundaries: between stage and audience, past and present, what we reveal and what we hide.
